In my grandmother’s garden, I watched as she toiled in the earth, lovingly and patiently. My small hands couldn’t comprehend how she managed to gently remove a plant or flower presented at the various flower shows. Many of the flowers had numerous, deep roots and that meant extra care.
In my grandmother’s hands, her tools to performed surgery on the earth. She alleviated the soil of its creation, placing it inside a perfectly picked out pot. No damage to the flower as it is transported elsewhere was the goal.
To get to the root takes time, patience, care, and a steady hand. My grandmother knew how it was done and I admire her.
Watching my grandmother work in her garden prepared me for the inner work. I didn’t know it at the time, but she showed me the best way to navigate to a new environment, new gateway, new opportunity.
I am the flower, worthy of my own place in this world, to continue to grow and admired. But first the roots must be found, cleaned, trimmed. Just like my grandmother, I expressed patience and love while working through the roots I discovered. This must be done before new beginnings; only keep the parts that continue to nurture this flower.
Nothing new can start until the roots are found and taken care of expeditiously! Otherwise, the flower will succumb to overgrown roots no longer of service to it’s purpose of beauty in this world.
The discovery of my roots showed they were lacking in maintenance and care. I then remembered my grandmother and it all became apparent to me. Extra care needed because they ran deep.
Every day, I show myself grace. I do what I can. I always try my best.
Extra care is needed because the roots run deep.
Simply put – recognizing the roots of everything that has made me who I am to this point, has brought with it the type of clarity on my healing journey only set aside for the brave of heart.
Much cleaning and trimming to be done, but the awareness is much better than the chore. Knowing it’s there and dealing with it is a much better use of time as I forge onto new beginnings.
I can’t take it all with me and honestly, I do not wish to either. For this reason, Shadow Work has worked wonders for me. It helps me gain clarity on who I was, who I am and who I will be.
