Forging My Path

I spent many years as a follower. Only, I didn’t realize it until a few months ago.

Throughout life, I prided myself on marching to the beat of my own drummer. Or so I thought.

In reality, that was a story I told myself and others, so I never had to explain why I didn’t have or do what others had or did.

While I was telling the independent thinker story, other people’s opinions and ideas drove the course I was going.

All that time. Living out someone else’s view of me rather than forging my path.

The good part is that I figured it out while I had time to rectify the situation.

Now, I can say proudly that I am a leader. My life has built up to this moment when I step into my leadership with peace and love.

Through shadow work, I was able to stop telling myself a false story and step into my purpose. For this, I am forever grateful.

Where do you stand in the conversation? Are you a leader or follower? I would love to hear from you in the comments.
