Today’s question is one of those questions where you will have to really go and have a conversation with your shadow. Odds are you don’t know the exact answer to the question and are going to have to really dig to find it. On the contrary, you may know precisely the answer to this question but that doesn’t mean you wish to explore it.
This is one of those things where we feel a strong desire to protect ourselves from feeling the pain and/or sadness of a given scenario. Even though it has already happened and can’t be undone, it is not actively happening now. However, we have a sense of needing to shield ourselves from the feelings which are guaranteed to arise from a question like this.
Don’t fret. The answer to this question cannot hurt you. It may emotionally affect you still, but it cannot physically cause you any harm. Knowing the answer to the first part of the question will give you perspective on the second half of the question. Be brave and sit with it.
If this question triggers an emotional response in you, do yourself a favor. We know when we are triggered it’s something inside of us that needs examining. So, before answering this question wrap your arms around yourself and give yourself a big hug. Hold on to yourself as long as you need to. Let your shadow know this is something that must be done in order to heal.
