Finding My Tribe: A Journey of Community, Healing and Growth

Hey there, beautiful ones! Let’s dive into a tale that might just make you chuckle, nod in agreement, and maybe even inspire you to take a leap of faith. Picture this: a misfit, an oddball, and an introverted dreamer all walk into the struggle of finding their people. That’s me. And boy, oh boy, did I have an odyssey when it came to finding my tribe.

Growing up, I was the poster child for the “awkward yet endearing” category. You know, the kind of kid who would rather spend lunch breaks with a book than navigate the wild jungles of the cafeteria. This charmingly offbeat disposition naturally followed me into adulthood, making the “find your community” journey feel like the quest for the holy grail.

First stop: writer’s groups. Ah, the allure of shared creativity and scribbled dreams! Little did I know, those groups were like a labyrinth of egos and keyboard warriors. Gossip flowed like a river, and drama was the currency of the realm. You’d think I stumbled upon a real-life soap opera set. I decided that drama wasn’t my best accessory and moved on.

Next attempt: the world of entrepreneurs. “Let’s make money and change the world!” they cried, but all I saw were one-man bands playing solos. Networking felt more like speed dating but with business cards instead of roses. You know it’s not a good sign when people are more interested in their sales pitch than actually knowing your name. So, I waved my imaginary entrepreneur flag goodbye.

Now, fast forward a bit, and I found myself in a promising cohort. Multicultural, multi-talented, multitudes of potential friends… or so I thought. Turns out, many of them were wrapped up in their own tales of success, leaving little room for camaraderie. Sigh Another mismatch.

Three-year hiatus, solo ventures, and a splash of self-discovery later, I was back on the horse. But this time, the nagging realization that I needed a community was louder than ever. So, armed with cautious optimism, I picked three communities to dip my toes into.

Two were déjà vu of my past experiences: self-absorbed in one, sales pitch parades in another. I could practically hear my inner monologue screaming, “Abort mission! Abort mission!” And then, there was the third. Ah, Deeper Than The Brand – a digital content brand community that felt like a warm hug through the screen.

They welcomed me with virtual open arms, like a long-lost friend returning home. Support flowed like a river (a drama-free one this time). It was like finding the last piece of the puzzle I didn’t know was missing. These weren’t just folks aiming for online fame; they were soulful wanderers on their unique paths. And guess what? Some of those paths intertwined with my own journey of healing and spiritual growth.

Who would’ve thought that in a community focusing on branding, I’d find kindred spirits in search of authenticity and enlightenment? It was like hitting the jackpot. Connecting with them was like magic – a connection that was genuine, caring, and more uplifting than a trampoline on a spring day.

Speaking of connections, let me drop a hint about something I’m brewing: the Blue Phoenix community. It’s all about healing, growth, and embracing our true selves. If you’re done with the solitary journey and want a tribe that’s more family than acquaintances, you’re invited!

Oh, and before I wrap up this blog post, if you’re out there, feeling like the protagonist in your own solo movie, remember: finding your tribe might be a quest, but the treasure – oh, the treasure – is worth it. So, embrace the missteps, learn from the drama queens, and celebrate the awkward moments.

P.S. Curious how I went from the verge of community despair to triumph? I’ve got a little something for you: a free PDF, “30 Questions to Begin Your Shadow Work Journey.” It’s like a treasure map to self-discovery.

So, there you have it, my beautiful ones. Life’s journey isn’t always a solo expedition. Sometimes, you stumble upon a community that’s like finding a pot of gold at the end of a double rainbow – improbable, but oh-so-wondrous. So, go forth, find your people, and let the adventures begin!
