Hey there, beautiful ones! Today, I want to share a story that’s been brewing in my heart for quite some time. It’s a tale of self-discovery, transformation, and the profound realization that loving yourself should always be your top priority. So, let’s dive into my journey of self-love – sprinkled with a dash of humor and a whole lot of passion!

For most of my life, I was a certified love-seeker. From the time I was a little tyke, I believed that love existed somewhere out there, just waiting for me to find it. I looked for it in my family dynamics, desperately trying to understand why it felt like my parents favored my sisters over me. I thought maybe if I could just earn their love, I’d feel complete.

Fast forward to my teenage years, and I had a not-so-genius plan: having a baby. Yep, you heard me right. I thought that by becoming a mother, I would finally have someone to love unconditionally, and in return, I’d receive that same love. Spoiler alert: It didn’t quite work out that way.

Then came the stormiest chapter of my love-seeking escapades – an abusive marriage. I convinced myself that I needed this person to love me, that this was the love I’d been yearning for. Looking back, it’s almost comical how wrong I was.

My grand finale, or so I thought, was remarrying because I felt that this was the only way I could prove I was worthy of love. I almost begged for 17 years for this second marriage, searching for that elusive feeling of being loved, but once again I ended up with nothing but heartbreak and disappointment.

I couldn’t understand why I was seemingly unlovable. Why was it so hard for me to find love? Little did I know, the answer had been within me all along, waiting patiently for its grand reveal.

Cue my spiritual awakening. It was like a gentle whisper from the universe telling me that love isn’t something you find outside of yourself; it’s something you nurture within. I had an epiphany – how could I ever expect to be loved or find love if I didn’t first love myself?

So, my journey of self-love began, and boy, was it a rollercoaster! Instead of relying on wishful thinking and waiting for someone else to shower me with love, I started spending quality time with myself. I began affirming and reaffirming my love for myself, not just with empty words but with genuine feelings.

I changed the way I spoke to myself, treating myself with kindness and compassion. I started looking at myself in the mirror and embracing the beauty that I am. I gave to myself the way I yearned for others to give to me – wholeheartedly and unconditionally.

Now, I make it a point to tell myself, “I love you,” multiple times a day. But it’s not just lip service – I truly feel it in the depths of my soul. For the first time in my life, I feel loved beyond measure, and it’s a feeling that no external force can ever replace.

The best part? I’ve come to a place where I no longer seek love outside of myself. Sure, if it crosses my path, I’ll welcome it with open arms, but I’m no longer on a frantic hunt for it or dependent on others to provide it. My love for myself reigns supreme.

Loving myself has become my most treasured relationship, and it’s a love story that keeps growing with each passing day. It’s taught me that I am enough just as I am, flaws and all. It’s empowered me to set boundaries and prioritize my well-being. It’s shown me that I am deserving of love simply because I exist.

So, beautiful ones, if you find yourself trapped in the cycle of seeking love outside of yourself, know that you’re not alone. It’s a journey many of us have embarked on, but I’m here to tell you that there’s a better way.
