Hey there, beautiful ones! Today, I’m diving deep into the wacky world of fear. Yes, that silly, treacherous emotion that has, more often than not, made us shelve our dreams, or even worse – our unpublished manuscripts. Been there, done that.

For years, fear and I were buddies. Not the “let’s-have-fun-at-a-theme-park” kind, but more of a “let’s-binge-watch-horror-movies-and-then-wonder-why-we-can’t-sleep” kind. My fear wasn’t the classic, “There’s a spider in the room!” kind (okay, maybe that too) but it was the kind that made me wrap myself up in a cocoon of doubt and hesitation. And guess what? Sometimes, technology joined the fear bandwagon! Like in 2009, when my computer decided to crash and burn, taking with it the very work I was too scared to showcase. If that’s not a double whammy, I don’t know what is.
But wait, the plot thickens! Social media! A platform where everyone’s life seems picture-perfect, where opinions flow like water, and where my fear took on a whole new form. “What if my family saw my post and talked about it at Thanksgiving?” or “What if no one likes my ‘unpopular’ opinion?” The horror! I was like a superhero, scared of her own powers!
And then, like the plot twist in every good story, my narrative changed. I began my healing journey. I realized my fears were just echoes from my past. Echoes that had no business haunting my present.
Is it all sunshine and rainbows now? Nope! But when I feel that old familiar pang of fear, like if my new logo is as snazzy as I hope it is, or if my cat is judging me (always!), I remember to laugh in its face. The lesson? Fear isn’t your buddy. It’s a relic of past traumas. And let’s be honest, getting jittery about what I’m posting online isn’t quite the same as being chased by a bear, right?
Take my daily Instagram Lives, for instance. 4 pm EST, Monday to Friday. There was a time when I’d be a bundle of nerves pre-live. Now? It’s a party, and you’re invited!
Isn’t it ironic? We speak of “comfort zones”, but who said they’re actually… comfortable? Often, they’re just familiar, and there’s a difference. To all you budding entrepreneurs, content creators, or those simply seeking a change, remember: you’ve got to dance with fear to get to the other side. Not the best dance partner, but sometimes it’s the only one available.
Now, if you’re thinking, “How do I start?”, don’t worry! I’ve got a neat little tool for you – a free PDF titled “30 Questions to Begin Your Transformative Journey“. Dive in and uncover the root of your fears. And if you feel like chatting about those findings, my door (and inbox) is always open. My Blue Phoenix 6-week program might just be the magic potion you need.
Whatever path you choose, don’t let the ghosts of your past spook your present. I believe in you! And most importantly, I love you (yes, even those of you who put pineapple on pizza 😉). Cheers to a fear-less future!
