Hey there, Beautiful Ones! You wanna know something I’ve never done but am willing to try for the first time? I’ve never been alone. I know you’re like, wait, Trina, how have you never been alone?
Well, I’ll tell you. I became a mom at 15, got married at 18, had 4 children by 21, separated from my first husband when I was 23, and met my current husband later that year. There’s always been my children, a man, or both with me at all times. I only lived by myself briefly before I remarried and even then I spent more time at his house and less at mine. I never traveled alone. Nothing. I was always taking care of somebody else.

The Comfort Zone Conundrum
I never just took time out for myself. I’ve realized in this season that being alone is the best thing for me. Also, as a creator, being in my own space at peace will do my creations some good. There comes a time when we have to step out of our comfort zones. For me, not only living on my own but traveling alone is stepping far out of my comfort zone. I have lived in the same city for 40 years and honestly, that’s part of the problem. A change of scenery helps the creative spirit.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can be as daunting as a solo trip for someone like me, but it’s all about embracing change. I mean, think about it, creators! Isn’t the most exciting part of your journey when you push yourself beyond your limits? That’s where the magic happens, and believe me, it’s a magical world out there waiting for you to explore.

Embrace the Challenge, Creator!
Doing something for the first time can be scary, but it’s precisely what we need to grow. So, creator, it may be time for you to step out of your comfort zone. You may not need to leave the city or town you’re in, but what can you do that will push you in the direction of change? What can you do differently to break the cycles you’re in? Remember, I believe in you, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Action Steps to Kickstart Your Journey Out of the Comfort Zone:
- Identify Your Comfort Zone Boundaries: Take a moment to reflect on what’s been holding you back. Is it fear of the unknown? Familiar routines? Identify the walls of your comfort zone, and acknowledge them.
- Set a Small Challenge: Start small to build confidence. It could be as simple as trying a new creative technique, speaking at a local event, or reaching out to a new audience. The key is to take that first step.
- Plan Your Escape: If you’re feeling adventurous like me, plan a solo trip or a getaway to a place you’ve never been. It doesn’t have to be far; the change of scenery can work wonders for your creativity. Embrace the opportunity to connect with yourself and your art in a new way.
So, my fellow creators, let’s embark on this journey together! Let’s break free from our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and watch as our creativity flourishes in the process. Remember, it all begins with that first step, and I can’t wait to see the incredible creations that emerge when we dare to venture beyond the familiar. I believe in you, and remember, I love you.
