Hey there, beautiful ones! Today, let’s dive into the life lesson of 2023 that has been a bit difficult: learning when to let people go.
Letting Go – A Tough Nut to Crack
For years, I clung onto relationships like a cat to its favorite scratching post, even when they left me emotionally battered and bruised. Whether it was family or friends who had been part of my life for eons, I felt an unwarranted responsibility to salvage the sinking ship. The cycle of justifying their faults while dismissing my own thoughts and feelings became my modus operandi.

The Art of Acceptance: It’s Not Always a Two-Way Street
It took me a while to realize that my thoughts and feelings are valid, no matter how irrational they may seem at times. Learning this invaluable lesson didn’t mean absolving others of their mistakes. Understanding my faults and accepting them was liberating, but I discovered that not everyone shares this enlightenment. And you know what? That’s perfectly okay.
As I navigated this journey of self-discovery, I understood that growth involves acknowledging my role in situations without overlooking the parts others played. Just because I can see the errors of my ways doesn’t grant a free pass to those who may never fathom their own missteps. It’s like trying to teach a fish to ride a bicycle – sometimes, it’s best to let them swim in their own sea.
Loving Yourself Enough to Let Go
Admitting and accepting my faults became a crucial aspect of my journey. Loving myself enough to apologize and make amends was the bittersweet symphony that played in the background of my newfound self-awareness. However, what’s even more liberating is realizing that not everyone will dance to the same tune.

You Don’t Have to Shrink for Anyone Else
Growing up doesn’t mean shrinking yourself to fit into relationships that make you feel small or insignificant. I discovered the power of saying no to toxic connections, even if they were wrapped in the guise of kinship or decades-old friendships. It’s okay to stand tall, shoulders back, and declare, “This relationship no longer serves me.”
Unleash the Power of Letting Go
So, my beautiful ones, here’s the golden nugget of wisdom for you: it is absolutely okay to let people go, especially when they add nothing positive to your life or refuse to accept their own faults. You’re not obligated to carry the weight of relationships solely because of shared blood or the sands of time.
Embrace the beauty of letting go as you navigate this wild journey called life, you’re not alone. I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you! 💙
