Hey there, beautiful one. I’m not a fan of holidays, especially now with my understanding of the world and the collective. One of the most depressing days for many folks in the U.S. is Valentine’s Day. The reason it’s so depressing for people is there is so much emphasis put on buying and receiving gifts as an act of love. It’s almost to say if you don’t receive anything or go out on a fancy date, no one loves you.
Love Knows No Calendar Date
I believe we should show our love every day and not on a specific day which tends to leave people not in a relationship out. Love is something that should be shared openly and honestly with everyone we meet. Now, I don’t mean you have to be in love with your next-door neighbor. However, there are ways to show love that are honestly common courtesies. The whole notion that we show our love in predominantly economical ways is weird to me. Love has nothing to do with what you can buy or what can be bought for you. Love is about treating others how you would like to be treated.
The Valentine’s Day Conundrum: A Humorous Take
The sad part about it is that anyone who has this type of view about Valentine’s Day is said to be jealous because that person is probably single. This is furthest from the truth, at least for me. I view this day as another way for people to spend unnecessary money because we live in a capitalist country. It also happens to coincide with tax season ironically. Nevertheless, love should be given freely to those you care for each day. And if we go by the mantra of treat others how you wish to be treated and love thy neighbor, love is something there doesn’t need to be a holiday for. But maybe it’s just me.
Celebrating Love Every Day: Embrace the True Spirit
Love transcends dates on a calendar, fancy gifts, or societal expectations. It’s about the little acts of kindness, the genuine connections we foster, and the compassion we show to those around us. So, let’s celebrate love not just on one day but every day of the year.
