Lost in the Pages

Hey there, beautiful ones. Have you ever gotten lost in something you’re doing? No? Just me? Growing up, I used to get lost in books. I loved to read so much that I found myself bored with the young adult section of the library and began to peruse the adult section at the age of 14. A good fiction book would hold me captive from beginning to end. It would upset me if I had to stop reading for any particular reason. I had to get to the end.

Now, as an adult, I find myself once again getting lost in the things I read. Only this time, it’s not just fiction novels, but nonfiction as well. A good book goes a long way with me. There are times when I’m so stuck in what I’m reading I forget about everything else. I’ve even gone as far as reading so long I forget to eat. Books have always intrigued me and held me captive, especially if the author is good at what they do.

When it comes to fiction, the author must be able to paint a picture well enough so that I can visualize the story playing out in my mind. When it comes to nonfiction, I enjoy an author who writes like they are having a conversation with me as the reader and it’s not all technical, but personable as well. Getting lost in a good book is one of my favorite pastimes.

There is an unwritten rule, when I am reading it is best not to ask me anything unless it is absolutely important otherwise I didn’t hear you and wasn’t paying attention. Hey, I’m just being honest about it.

Flowing Through Words: The Magic of Writing

When we lose ourselves in constructive things, we reach a state of flow. When we get to that place of flow, everything seems easier and time flies by. Another time I lose myself is when I’m writing.

If I get into a good rhythm, it’s another time when it is best that you don’t ask me anything because I probably won’t hear you. Writing has always been an activity I can get into the flow state especially if I am writing something that comes from the heart, which is almost everything.

Nevertheless, the moral of the story is to find the things that you can get lost in because those things will elevate you.

The Elevating Power of Getting Lost

Getting lost in a good book or in the act of writing isn’t just about escapism; it’s about finding a piece of yourself in those moments. It’s about tapping into creativity, imagination, and emotion. It’s about exploring worlds beyond our own and discovering truths within ourselves. So, the next time you find yourself engrossed in a story or lost in thought while crafting your own narrative, embrace it.

Allow yourself to wander through the pages, to get lost in the words, and to flow with the rhythm of your own creation. Because in those moments, you’re not just lost; you’re found in a world of endless possibilities and boundless inspiration.

So here’s to getting lost and finding ourselves in the process. Here’s to the magic of words and the power of storytelling. And here’s to you, beautiful souls, may you always find your way through the pages and the pens of your own unique journey.

I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you.💙
