Spending Time Alone: The Real Struggle

Hey there, beautiful ones! I’ve been toying with the idea of sharing this with you all, and finally thought, why not? As many of you know, I’ve been in a bit of an isolation phase recently. I decided to spend some quality time with myself instead of seeking the company of others. To be honest, I love my alone time, but sometimes I struggle with it. Yesterday morning, I asked myself, “Trina, why do you struggle with being alone even though you like it?” The answer that came back completely blindsided me.

The Inner Child Speaks

I won’t dive into every detail, but it was my inner child who spoke up. She explained why being alone was so terrifying. Growing up, there were many times when I didn’t want to be alone, but I ended up being left out, feeling like the oddball or outcast in my own family. As I got older, I sought connections in others to fill those gaps. I looked for the mother/child bond with my children, the father connection with men, and the sibling bond with friends. I was desperately trying to avoid the loneliness my family often left me with.

I always thought it was the loneliness I feared. But that was just the surface. What I truly feared was the idea that being alone meant I wasn’t good enough, that I was unworthy, different, or, worst of all, unlovable. This revelation was a major eye-opener. I had no idea these fears were lurking in my subconscious. Memories I had buried and forgotten surfaced, and this became the most significant breakthrough in my healing journey. As heartbreaking as it was, I’m incredibly grateful for this newfound understanding.

Finding the Love Within

I now realize that everything I went through as a child was preparing me for this moment of awakening. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that the love and connections I was searching for were always within me. I just needed to give myself permission to feel them fully. This breakthrough shed light on so many feelings and decisions I’ve made throughout my life. I now understand myself in a new way and have no regrets because I see how every experience brought me here.

Trusting the Journey

So, my lovelies, understand that everything you’ve been through is preparing you for who you’re becoming. You might not see it now, but give yourself grace and time, and you will. There’s no point in asking, “Why me?” because it had to be you. Every lonely moment, every tear, was a stepping stone on your path to self-discovery and self-love. Embrace your journey, and know that you are exactly where you need to be.

Remember, life’s twists and turns are molding you into the person you’re meant to be. The struggles, the heartaches, the moments of isolation—they all have a purpose. Trust that process, and you’ll find the strength and love within yourself. I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you. 💙
