Embracing the Blank: Why It’s Okay to Feel Nothing Sometimes

Hey there, beautiful ones! If I’m being honest, some days I feel, well, nothing. Sure, I always carry a sense of gratitude, but outside of that, there are times when I don’t feel anything at all. This isn’t a frequent occurrence, but it does happen. On these particular days, I don’t know what to write or what I should do. I tend to draw a blank. My mind goes quiet, and I’m at a loss for words. Today is such a day.

It took me a while to write this because, of course, I didn’t know what I was going to write about. Eventually, I settled on sharing this state of being that sometimes takes over me. It’s not the most thrilling topic, but it’s a real part of my life, and I suspect it might be part of yours too.

The Early Days of Panic

In the early days of my journey, these blank states scared me. I thought I should always be feeling something, anything. I worried that not feeling anything meant something was wrong with me. But I’ve learned that sometimes, feeling nothing is exactly what’s supposed to happen, especially when a major breakthrough has occurred a day or so before.

It’s like my inner being just needs a moment to process, to be still, and to rest. I still ask myself why I’m not feeling anything, but I don’t force my feelings anymore. I’ve come to appreciate these quiet times as a necessary part of my emotional cycle.

The Entrepreneur’s Dilemma

It can be a little unsettling for an entrepreneur like me because there’s always something to do. There’s always another task, another goal, another project waiting for my attention. But I’ve also come to understand that not doing anything for a day won’t derail my success. It won’t stop anything that’s meant for me to achieve.

Taking a break doesn’t mean I’m not productive; it means I’m respecting my need for rest. In fact, I’ve found that allowing myself these moments of stillness often leads to greater creativity and productivity down the line. It’s like giving my brain a chance to reboot.

Embracing the Blank Days

So, what’s the takeaway here? The moral of the story, lovelies, is that it’s okay to have days like this. It doesn’t mean anything “bad”. It’s just a way for your mind, soul, and body to breathe, especially if you’re always thinking or doing.

Allow yourself to take that time off and be with yourself. Or do as I do and take midday naps. It’s quite alright. Trust me. Sometimes, these blank days are a gift in disguise, giving us the space to heal, reflect, and recharge.

Next time you find yourself in this state, don’t panic. Don’t try to force yourself out of it. Embrace it. Use it as an opportunity to practice self-compassion and self-care. Read a book, take a walk, or simply sit in silence. The world will keep turning, and your to-do list will still be there when you’re ready.

Remember, you’re not alone in this. We all have these moments, and they’re a natural part of the ebb and flow of life. Give yourself permission to just be. I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you. 💙
