It Has Been You the Whole Time

Hey there, beautiful ones. Let me start with a little PSA: what I’m about to share may stir something in those who are still early in their self-awareness journey. And that’s okay. Growth has a way of doing that.

Now, let’s talk about the biggest obstacle standing between you and the life you’re meant to live. Are you ready? It’s you.

I know, I know — you’re probably side-eyeing me right now, asking, “But Trina, what did I do?” And the honest answer is: everything. But before you close this tab, know that I was guilty of this too for a very long time. The truth is, it’s so simple that it’s almost heartbreaking how many of us don’t see it until we’ve hit rock bottom. So let’s break it down.

Thoughts Become Things

You’ve probably heard this before, but let me ask you something: do you truly understand it? The thoughts you think — both consciously and unconsciously — are literally shaping your reality every single day.

Your conscious mind is only part of the story. Your subconscious mind is running in the background constantly, filtering information, replaying old stories, and reinforcing beliefs you may not even know you hold. We aren’t even aware of half of what’s operating beneath the surface. That’s a lot of invisible influence.

This is why slapping positive affirmations on top of deep-rooted doubt rarely works. If your subconscious mind doesn’t believe what your mouth is saying, it will mock every word. But here’s the good news: as you commit to your healing journey, those buried beliefs begin to surface and shift. You don’t need all the evidence yet. When you do the inner work, you naturally begin to radiate the frequency of your affirmations — because you’re becoming them.

You Are What You Speak

The words that leave your mouth carry frequency, and that frequency has the power to elevate or diminish you. If you speak to yourself with cruelty, with doubt, with dismissal — your spirit will start to believe it. And once your spirit believes it, your actions will follow.

Now, some people are masters at performing confidence for the world while quietly tearing themselves apart in private. That mask is exhausting, beautiful one. You deserve better than that.

Here’s a practice that shifted everything for me: speak to yourself the way you would speak to God, the Universe, or Source. Because you are not separate from that energy — you are an extension of it. The reverence you offer outward? Turn it inward. When you love yourself enough to watch your words, everything starts to change.

You Are What You Eat

Yes, we’ve all heard it. But are you living it? What you put into your body directly impacts your energy, your clarity, and ultimately, your impact on this world. Heavily processed foods, fast food, and the chemical-laden products flooding the American food supply are doing far more damage than most people realize. They cloud your thinking, weigh down your body, and make it harder to show up as the highest version of yourself.

Eating whole, natural foods feeds not just your body — it feeds your spirit. And don’t sleep on water. We are made of mostly water, and when you’re dehydrated, everything suffers. Replenish often. Nourish yourself like you mean it.

The Company You Keep

The people around you are either lifting your frequency or pulling it down. Period. That constant negative friend, the toxic family member you keep in your circle out of obligation, the people who greet every dream with a list of reasons it won’t work — their energy is affecting you whether you realize it or not.

You have every right to be intentional about who you allow into your space. I understand the desire to keep familiar, comfortable people close — especially when you’re afraid of being alone. But there’s a significant difference between being alone and being lonely. Solitude, especially during seasons of growth, is a gift. Loneliness is a symptom of seeking completion outside of yourself. And you are too whole for that.

Here’s the bottom line, beautiful one: your thoughts, your words, what you eat, and who you surround yourself with are all either serving your ascension or stalling it. The beautiful thing? Every single one of those is within your power to change.

You are always in control of you — even when it doesn’t feel that way. Take inventory. Be honest with yourself. You may find that the only thing standing between you and your next level is the version of you that’s still playing small.

I believe in you. And as always, I love you.
