A Legacy That’s Legendary

One thing I’ve always known is I want to leave a legacy behind – something legendary.

That may seem a bit grandiose but I don’t believe so. I believe anyone can become legendary. All it takes is the belief you can become so.

The type of legacy I want to leave behind is one that helps people centuries after I’m gone. I want my words to be read and spoken in numerous languages. I want the message to reach and impact all races, religions, ethnicities, social and economic backgrounds.

It is my mission to help as many people as I can release themselves from their mental diagnosis and become who they were meant to be – free. Free from cycles, episodes, and states; medication and doctors. Most importantly, I want them to free themselves from the stigma.

People shouldn’t be suffering mentally especially when they don’t have to. Mental illness isn’t permanent as we’ve been made to believe. If the correct help was actually given, so many people wouldn’t suffer.

Now, that may seem like a tall order. But truthfully, I believe it can be done.

I’m living proof a mental diagnosis doesn’t mean that’s what you have for the rest of your life. I used to identify with bipolar disorder because I believed it was part of my life. The moment I stopped identifying with it, the symptoms stopped. (A story for another time.)

The most important part about the above statement is my children get to see this version of me – a woman not tripped up by depressive and manic states, aware of everything, and able to love without stipulation. A woman at peace with life and the world around her. That’s the real legacy.

Trina, your enthusiastic triumph over mental struggle is a legacy that will certainly live on. Your candid bravery and willingness to help others will be ever-increasingly needed in humanity’s self-destructive tendencies. Battle on, valiant warrioress!
