Question of the Day #25

How do you handle grief?

#QOTD #ShadowWork

Make yourself comfy. Grab your pen and your journal and let’s hop right in.

Today, we’re discussing grief. Everyone has grief but not everyone deals with grief in the same way. Some people outwardly show their grief while others deny its existence. Either way, grief is not something to avoid, but something to step fully into in order to heal.

The presence of grief means we’ve lost something dear to us. Based on our history with grief we either lean into our grief, try to mask our grief, or deny it’s occurring at all. How we choose to handle our grief is just as important as the grief itself.

If grief is dealt with in a positive way, then we’re good. However, many of us handle grief in negative and possibly destructive ways – not necessarily to others but to ourselves. This can be for a myriad of reasons and it is up to you to figure out why you deal in the way you do.

This question is eye-opening when you truly allow yourself to explore your grief and the ways in which you handle it. You will begin to see a pattern.

Remember, show yourself compassion and grace. Feel the feelings in an effort to move past them.
