Self-sabotage – the thing that trips many of us up but none want to admit exists. It’s a hard pill to swallow but must be digested to eliminate it.
If self-sabotage is something you are dealing with, don’t worry, you aren’t alone. We have dealt with situations that we know our psyche had a hand in screwing with. However, many of us are unaware that we have this issue and allow it to continue.
Oftentimes, it’s easier to destroy or dismantle something before anything bad can happen. We are always waiting for the other shoe to drop, so we do things to speed up the process. We don’t realize we are sabotaging ourselves.
Too many times, I’ve witnessed people dig a hole bigger than it needs to be. Things can be going well and they find something, anything to blow it all up. The saddest part is they don’t recognize what they’re doing until it’s too late.
Think about as many instances as you can and decipher if things went south because of forces outside of your control or if you were the main catalyst. This information alone can help you understand a lot about yourself.
Take your time. Show yourself grace and compassion when dealing with this question. Be honest with yourself. Feel the feelings in an effort to move past them.
