Hey there, Beautiful Ones. It’s your girl, Trina Lynne, your friendly neighborhood spiritual advisor and healing specialist, coming at you with a heart full of passion, a dash of humor, and a whole lot of love. Today, I want to open up and share something personal with you. You see, I’ve always believed in transparency, and as I journey through life, I keep uncovering valuable lessons that I can’t wait to pass on to you all.
Let’s turn back the clock to a time when I was, well, let’s just say it like it is – I was needy for attention. Yep, I admit it. I needed the spotlight on me, and not in the best way. It was like I had this magnetic pull towards making everything about yours truly. Even when something good happened, I had a knack for turning it into a one-woman show if no one was biting on my bait. Looking back, I can see that it was all rooted in my own trauma and an unhealthy refusal to heal.

I’ll be honest; I used to bombard my friends with my same old sad songs. If I could have changed those tunes by just making an effort, I didn’t. It was downright toxic, but back then, I was too wrapped up in my own drama to see it. I just had to share my feelings about everything and, quite frankly, I wasn’t always fair about it. This self-pitying mindset even crept into my career.
I found myself focusing on all the negative and pathetic stories I could tell. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always had a deep love for writing, but even that passion was tainted by toxicity. I’d put on this front that I was doing just fine, but as time went on, I started being transparent in the wrong way. I clung to my self-made narratives like a lifeline, all in a bid to garner sympathy and understanding for why my life wasn’t all it could be.
But here’s the kicker, my beautiful souls, I eventually realized that all these behaviors were just desperate cries for attention, and not the good kind. It was my way of avoiding the real work – healing. Yes, I did go to therapy, and at one point, I had not one, not two, but three therapists on speed dial. I hashed some stuff out and reached a certain level of understanding in certain areas, but guess what? I still clung to those old narratives like a security blanket.
It wasn’t until I put my foot down and said, “Enough is enough!” that I finally broke free from my toxic need for attention. I stopped whining and complaining about every little thing in my personal and professional life. And let me tell you, it’s my professional life that has truly taken off since this shift.

Now, my creativity flows through me like a river, and I stand tall as a creator because I finally understand that to create authentically, I had to heal the wounds that were keeping me from embracing my own greatness.
So, here’s the deal, my friends. If you find yourself stuck in those same old narratives, constantly craving attention, don’t sweat it.
