Diving Into The Unknown: Creative Risks

Hey beautiful ones! Let’s talk about taking risks. As creators, we take risks every day. We risk people’s opinions about our work. We risk not being understood. We risk criticism. We risk putting ourselves out there in the public eye for all to see. These are all things we do daily. Well, at least I do.

One risk that I haven’t taken but am pushing myself to do is to create long-form videos. You may say, “Trina, what are you risking by doing that?” Well, I’m risking being completely out in the open, unapologetically me. This is something I’ve struggled with for a long time in my life because it wasn’t always met with smiles. However, I am pushing myself by taking a crash course in long-form video so I can be more open with my audience without them having to read everything I say. Mostly because people’s attention spans are so short, but I am doing what I need to do to grow as a creator.

Taking risks is like jumping into a pool of uncertainty with floaties made of your creativity. You may wobble, and you may splash, but isn’t it exhilarating? Let’s dive deeper into this pool of creative risks and find out how you can take the plunge too!

Take The Leap

Creating is all about authenticity, right? That’s why I’m choosing to dive into the unknown world of long-form videos. Imagine me, stumbling over my words and maybe even knocking over a camera or two. But hey, isn’t that what makes us human, and in turn, more relatable to our audience?

So, what could you do as a risk you may haven’t taken? Well, here are a few action steps for you to join me in this adventurous journey:

Action Step 1: Embrace Imperfection with Open Arms

Remember, it’s okay to be imperfect. We often forget that our quirks and flaws are what make us unique. Your audience will appreciate your authenticity more than a thousand perfectly scripted lines. Don’t fear criticism or negative comments; they’re just stepping stones on the path to growth. Take a risk, let your true self shine, and embrace imperfection with open arms.

Action Step 2: Take That Leap with a Smile

When you’re about to take a creative risk, do it with a smile. That might sound absurd, but it’s true! A smile can be your secret weapon, diffusing any self-doubt or fear. Smile through the jitters, through the unexpected, and through the judgment. Your courage will inspire others to do the same.

Action Step 3: Always Remember – You Are Loved

You have a community that supports you, no matter what. The blue heart emoji might not be able to physically hug you, but it represents the warmth and love of a caring audience. Know that you’re not alone in this journey, and your supporters are cheering for you every step of the way.

So, my fellow creators, let’s dare to be unapologetically ourselves. Let’s take those creative risks, even if it means creating long-form videos, or whatever your personal challenge may be. It’s all part of the journey, and it’s all part of growing as creators. The world is waiting to see your brilliance, and I can’t wait to see you shine brighter than ever!
