Hey there, beautiful ones! In our world of constant sharing, it’s easy to feel like you need to broadcast every aspect of your life. But let me tell you, everything ain’t for everyone. One thing I’ve learned to do with absolute prejudice is protect my life. While I share things to assist others on their journey, I don’t share everything. Often, I stick to broad strokes rather than intricate details. This choice has brought me a sense of peace and control over my personal space.

The Pressure to Share: Overcoming the Social Media Anxiety
There was a time when I felt immense pressure to share the happenings of my life. I’d scroll through my feed, seeing everyone’s glamorous vacations, fancy dinners, and picture-perfect moments, and I’d feel a pang of anxiety. Why wasn’t I sharing? Did my life not measure up? But then I realized something crucial: I don’t owe anyone a peek into my private life.
When I traveled to Bali, everyone urged me to take lots of pictures and share my adventures. I did take a few photos, but for the most part, I opted to enjoy my time in solitude. Over the past three months, I’ve traveled more than in the past three years, but you wouldn’t know it from my social media. I walk in beautiful scenery daily, yet I don’t share it. Why? Because I am very protective of my private moments.
The Joy of Keeping Things to Yourself
As I said, I am very protective of myself. I believe that the less you know, the better. This isn’t about being mean; it’s about being truthful. If I don’t feel the need to share, I don’t, and no one can make me. I’m as visible as I need to be, and that’s just fine with me.
Understand, my lovelies, that you should never feel it necessary to share things that are only for you. This doesn’t mean you can’t be visible, especially if you run a business or have a public persona. It means your visibility should be natural and based on what you feel comfortable sharing. If you don’t want to share something with the rest of the world, don’t. People think you have to post all the time, but you don’t. Don’t feel pressured, and don’t let the anxiety of social media dictate your actions.

Living Life on Your Own Terms
Living life on your own terms means setting boundaries and sticking to them. It’s about understanding that your life is yours to share or keep private. Embrace the freedom that comes with making your own choices. Your happiness and peace of mind are far more important than the fleeting approval of others on social media.
So, to all of you beautiful souls out there, remember that it’s perfectly okay to keep some things just for yourself. You don’t owe anyone an explanation or a snapshot of your every move. Cherish your private moments, enjoy your solitude, and share only what you feel comfortable with. I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you. 💙
