The Power of Making Different Decisions

Hey there, beautiful ones! Today, let’s talk about something that’s near and dear to my heart: the decisions we make and how they shape our growth. But here’s the twist—what if I told you one of the best decisions I ever made was actually making a different decision? Yes, I know that sounds like one of those paradoxes, but trust me, hear me out.

The Old, Comfortable Patterns of Decision-Making

A few years ago, I realized something that absolutely blew my mind. I had a habit—scratch that, a really bad habit—of making the same decisions over and over again. And I don’t mean the decisions that we make daily, like “What’s for lunch?” or “Should I hit snooze on the alarm?” (we’ve all been there). I’m talking about the deep-rooted decisions that shaped my life.

No matter what scenario I found myself in, I was making the same choices. It didn’t matter if I was dealing with relationships, career moves, or life choices. I kept walking the same path, falling into the same traps, and honestly, I didn’t even realize it until much later. And you know what? Most of these decisions were rooted in one thing—fear. Fear of being alone. Fear of being judged. Fear of missing out. Fear of being different. Fear, fear, fear, fear, fear—basically, a full-blown, fear-induced drama series starring me!

It took a real wake-up call for me to see it: all of these decisions were leading me down paths that, let’s be real, weren’t exactly filled with sunshine and rainbows. They were leading to toxic situations, heartbreaks, sadness, and despair. But here’s the kicker—I kept choosing them. Over and over again. My ego, that sneaky little gremlin, was so used to the “normal” that it convinced me that these painful choices were just part of life. And the worst part? The ego didn’t want me to change. Change meant it would have to deal with some discomfort. So, like a good little ego, it sent signals to keep me stuck in the same old, same old.

The Moment I Decided to Make Different Decisions

Then, one day, I had this epiphany. What if I made a different decision? What if, instead of choosing what felt familiar (even though it was doing me no favors), I made the decision to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new? Even if it was scary. So, I did it. I started making different decisions.

And you know what happened? My life started shifting in ways I never imagined. Old friends, toxic environments, and situations that no longer served me began to fall away. And I mean, fall away. It was like a weight being lifted. Suddenly, I could see myself in a new light. I started feeling more confident, and I stopped asking myself, “Why me?” Opportunities began flowing to me like a river I didn’t even know existed. I met new people, discovered new places, and felt a sense of excitement for life that I hadn’t felt in ages.

The coolest part? I realized that I had the power to create this change all along—through the decisions I was making. It wasn’t magic or luck. It was about consistently making decisions that were different from the ones that had once trapped me in negativity and low self-worth. If I hadn’t made that decision to switch things up, I’d still be stuck, playing the same broken record of choices. And trust me, that record was not my jam.

How to Start Making Different Decisions and Change Your Life

Don’t get it twisted. This wasn’t an easy shift to make. Our egos are stubborn little creatures, and they’ll do whatever it takes to keep us in our comfort zones. But over the years, I’ve learned to deal with that ego and not let it steer the ship. It still tries to sabotage me from time to time (who can relate?), but I bounce back faster now because I’ve got the power of consistency and repetition on my side.

So, If you’re wondering how to get started—here’s the good news: it’s actually as simple as 1, 2, 3… well, kind of. The key is repetition and consistency. If you can make the decision every day to do something different, you’ll start to see the world around you change. Start with small changes. Do something that challenges your comfort zone. Maybe it’s saying no to something that doesn’t serve you, or maybe it’s saying yes to an opportunity that scares you. Whatever it is, just start making different decisions.

I promise, as you start making these new decisions, you’ll notice the world beginning to shift. People, opportunities, and experiences that align with your highest good will start finding their way into your life. And I want you to remember this: If I can do it, so can you. You’ve got the power to change your life, one decision at a time.

So, let’s raise our glasses (or coffee mugs, no judgment here!) to making different decisions. Here’s to embracing change, breaking old patterns, and choosing the life we deserve.

I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you. 💙
