Hey there, beautiful ones! Today, I want to share with you a story—a journey, really—that has shaped me in ways I never imagined. For 16 years, I was lost in another person’s world. Can you imagine that? Sixteen long years of molding myself into what someone else desired, all the while losing sight of who I truly was.

Lost in Their Shadow
It’s surreal when I reflect on those years. I was so enraptured by this person that I willingly dismantled pieces of myself to fit into their narrative. I became what they wanted, at the expense of my own authenticity. Sounds crazy, right? But love—or what I thought was love—can sometimes blur our vision and cloud our judgment.
I sank deep into their presence, even as they repeatedly hurt me. It’s astounding how we can convince ourselves that someone is the only one for us, even when they’re breaking us apart. I’d learned tactics from past toxic relationships, and sadly, I applied them to prove my worthiness to this person. Can you believe it? I resorted to deceit and lies, all in the name of validation.
Awakening to Reality
But you know what they say about dark tunnels? There’s always light at the end. As I began to unearth pieces of myself, I started seeing this person for who they truly were—flaws and all. And you know what’s curious? They claimed to love me to the moon and back when I was lost in them. Yet, as I started finding myself, suddenly, they didn’t know me anymore. They couldn’t love the real me.
It was a revelation, to say the least. Instead of anger, I felt a strange sense of understanding. I realized that I was complicit in allowing this dynamic to thrive for so long. But something shifted within me. Words that once cut deep no longer held power over me. I had found my anchor amidst the storm.

Embracing Authenticity
To know who I truly am became my beacon. But here’s the kicker: authenticity was deemed unattractive to them. They couldn’t handle the fact that I was evolving, that I was healing. To them, the broken version of me was easier to love. What kind of love is that, I ask you? Love that stifles growth, that clings to stagnancy?
So here’s the takeaway, my dear friends: Never lose yourself in another person. Never let someone dim your light to make theirs shine brighter. Your authenticity, your growth, your journey—they matter. And if someone can’t love you for who you truly are, then they don’t deserve a place in your story.
Believe in yourself. Embrace your journey, the highs and the lows. And always remember, amidst the chaos and the uncertainties, there’s love—love for yourself, love for your journey, love for the beautiful soul that you are. I believe in you. And remember, as always, I love you!💙
